The group meets once a month at Coxhoe Village Hall at the following times:
- First Thursday of the month between 19:00 and 21:00
How it all works
- You can join us as a member by filling in the “Start your Membership” link below, which will ask you for a £13.50 card payment, you will then get details emailed of how to set up your direct debit and become a rolling member. We will then take payment for your first session via the direct debit, so you have always paid for current month and next month. For example if you join on 1st January, and you wish to start at the group in January you will make one card payment then one payment via direct debit.
- When you decide to leave simply give us 30 days notice from your last intended session, and we will cancel all future payments as your last session is already paid for. Click here to email, we will need your full name and group.
- We also offer the option of joining for a 6 month block and paying upfront, please contact us with the name of the group you’re interested in joining and we can send you some information
- As we are a not for profit group (a CIC) and run on tight margins this enables us to forward buy materials for the correct number of people and plan effectively.
- You can also join us as a guest to see what you think, or if you want to just come now and again! The “Guest Place” link is below and its £17.50 per session, if this is not available its because the group is full
- Both options include all of the materials you will need for the sessions along with Tea & Coffee
- The group is very friendly, you’re welcome to come with friends or on your own! We have flying solo tables for anyone alone, so you won’t be on your own for very long!
- You can read more about our groups and our membership by visiting Frequently asked questions or if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, get in touch!

Group Hosts: Lynne and Jen

My good friend, Lynne, told me that a friend of hers had said that she’d love Pimm’s and Needles as it was ‘her kind of thing’. Lynne then told me everything she’d learned so far and once I found out more about it I was hooked!
I’d like to be a host as this will give me the opportunity to see other practitioners showcasing their fabulous skills. Plus, I’ll get the chance to work with Lynne even more than I do already! Just over a year ago, a post by Pimm’s and Needles caught my eye. They were looking for tutors. I was already delivering workshops, but these were much larger groups. I was hesitant at first as I’m quite shy. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I haven’t looked back since. Becoming a host was naturally the next step . I’d pushed myself out of my comfort zone, but it felt good! The hosts were so encouraging and super supportive. I’m excited to be able to offer the same support to tutors and help bring Pimms to Gateshead. It also means I get to work alongside my very special friend Jennie!
I love to empower women and give them confidence. Pimms and Needles is a great place to do this. It’s inspiring to see so many women giving something new a go. I love how everyone creates something slightly different and unique, too. I love so much about the groups but by far the best bit is getting to meet and learn about the lives of so many lovely ladies.
One thing I don’t like is waste – well I say that but other peoples rubbish can be someone elses treasure! I must admit that I dislike the ‘big tidy up’ once I get home with all of my boxes. But who likes tidying up?
My perfect day is spent beachcombing and searching for treasures with my dog Spud. I’m at my happiest when I’m on a beach, especially when I find something extra special (like the blue seaglass marble the other day. My perfect day would be a walk along one of the many beaches in our beautiful country, followed by sitting in a hot tub (with loved ones) chatting and looking up at the stars. Oh and a nice glass of red and a cheeseboard would top this off perfectly!
Has to be a Turkish delight even though they’re much smaller now! Although as The Cookie Fairy I obviously love cookies my all-time favourite sweet treat has to be hot sticky toffee pudding with a dollop of cool ice cream.
The only activity I’ve done is cookie art with Jennie- which I loved ( I loved eating the cookies too). My favourite Pimm’s and Needles activity so far has been glass painting. I did this with my 18 year old daughter and we both had such a lovely evening together.
When I was a teenager (in the 80’s) I featured in Blue Jeans magazine. I was in their photo stories. It was good fun – the storylines were a bit cheesy, though! I was actually christened Jean not Jennie. Our godparents got myself and my twin (nickname Jean Bean) mixed up on the day and nobody noticed until it was too late.
