Discover the fascinating world of tarot through the lens of art and creativity in this inspiring workshop with artist Sally Anderson.

Tarot has captivated people for centuries, with artists across different eras bringing their own unique interpretations, symbolism, and storytelling to the cards. This workshop explores the rich artistic heritage of tarot, examining how different creators have shaped the imagery and meaning of the decks we know today.

The session begins with a short illustrated presentation introducing some of the key tarot artists and the historical context behind their designs. You’ll then have the opportunity to view a selection of tarot decks up close before creating your own tarot-inspired postcard, drawing inspiration from the imagery, themes, and cards that resonate with you most.

Step-by-step guidance and support will be available for beginners, while those with more experience are encouraged to develop their own creative style. Materials including pencils, coloured pencils, and black fineliner pens will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own dry, non-toxic art materials.

Please note: This is an art workshop exploring the visual history and creative interpretation of tarot. It is not a tarot reading workshop and will not cover tarot reading practices.

We kindly ask all participants to respect the diverse beliefs, perspectives, and approaches that people may have towards tarot.
