We’re delighted to welcome back our crafting queen Hayley from Litterbugs Crafts for this fabulous workshop where we will be making Kusadama Flowers.

Kusudama flowers are a type of intricate, geometric origami flower that is typically created by folding paper into multiple pieces, which are then assembled into a spherical shape. The term “Kusudama” comes from the Japanese words “kusu” (medicine) and “dama” (ball), historically referring to a type of decorative ball used in traditional Japanese culture that was often filled with aromatic herbs or medicinal plants. Today, kusudama is more commonly associated with paper folding (origami) and refers to a decorative, often flower-shaped, spherical structure made from folded paper.

Kusudama flowers, in particular, are made by folding individual origami petals and then joining them together to form a flower or a spherical bouquet. These folded flowers can be used for a wide variety of purposes, such as home decorwedding decorationsgift embellishments, or simply as an artistic craft.
